About the Role:
Our client is a well-respected NZ owned business, who have been enhancing the quality of people’s lives for over 35 years. As a leader in the medical and healthcare equipment field, they have developed trusted partnerships across multiple markets, including Public and Private Hospitals, Aged Care and Community Care. 
  
As a result of continued growth, they are now seeking a dynamic, dedicated and experienced Biomedical Service Engineer to join their team.  The candidate will focus on providing Technical Support, throughout Auckland and other parts of NZ, undertaking Service, Repair, Testing, Calibration and Electrical Test and Tag of medical equipment, ensuring compliance with manufacturer recommended standards.  

Electrical repairs will be completed on a range of products including; bed motors, oxygen concentrators, suction units, alternating air mattresses, hire equipment and other specialised equipment.  To be successful, you will need to have relevant Tertiary qualifications, the ability to travel as required and extremely high level presentation, communication and customer service skills.

Duties:

  • Perform annual compliance testing of medical and hospital equipment
  • Calibrate and maintain equipment to manufacturers recommended standard
  • Repair and replace complex biomedical equipment and systems
  • Install and adjust a variety of biomedical and research equipment
  • Attend to service and repair of medical and healthcare equipment in an efficient, timely and cost-effective manner
  • Test & Tag equipment to AS/NZS 3551.2012 & AS/NZS3760:2010
  • Provide technical troubleshooting support
  • Record and report to customers where equipment is considered to be unsafe
  • Complete service/repair records on appropriate software or paperwork
  • Develop long terms relationships with customers
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety standards

Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical qualifications in electrical/biomedical engineering
  • NZ Electrical Registration EAS
  • Minimum 2 years in a biomedical engineering role
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, Excel
  • Be able to improvise on the go and be a Team player
  • Pro-active problem solving skills
  • Excellent customer service & communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of Workplace Health & Safety
  • Ability to pass a Police and Drug & Alcohol Check
  • Current, clean drivers licence
  • MUST have full NZ working rights
